John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit with his pop-folk songs Many of them were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr., born Henry John Deutschendorf from Roswell near New Mexico, fell in love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems have inspired numerous people to go to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declares that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fames' inaugural inductee was recognized with this honor in 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many around the world. Through my travels, I've met people who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado the first words they say are"Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time as a folk musician which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the track with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version of the song and realized it would become a top 10 hit. The song was recorded just several weeks after it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
